About

About me

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that we heal within relationships. I hold such deep compassion for the ways of being and patterns of protection that we all develop on our journey of being human. My hope is that within our therapeutic relationship, you have an experience where you feel deep in your bones that you, in all your humanness, are welcome with me. Your hurts, longings, and shame deserve to be held within a relationship that can provide understanding and soothing. You’ll find that I am warm, engaged, and relational in my approach. Together, we’ll practice holding both the heavy and light of being alive in this world—offering a mix of empathy, curiosity, understanding, compassion, gentle honesty, delight, and humor. Therapy is a place where we can find healing and growth from the experiences that led to us needing to disconnect from parts of ourselves and our stories. Within our sessions, I work to provide a felt sense experience that I am grounded yet right there with you in the experiences and emotions that leave you feeling lost, alone, or overwhelmed. We’ll utilize and integrate the new experiences that relational-experiential therapy provides to help expand your capacity to be fully with your emotions and safe enough to turn toward the questions, feelings, and experiences you carry. Together, we’ll work to increase your access to your inner world and emotions, explore and make sense of why you feel and experience the world in the ways you do, and cultivate a sense of safety that allows you to feel more capable and at home within yourself and your relationships. I have received additional training in Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Somatic practices (including PolyVagal Theory). I am guided in my work by the beliefs that we are wired for relationships, engaging our emotions is vital to our sense of self worth, and awareness of the body in counseling plays an essential role in the healing process. I work with teens, adult individuals, and relationships (couples, parents and their children (13+), friendships, etc). The reasons for seeking therapy that I work with most are anxiety, depression, grief, self esteem/self worth, attachment trauma, and relationship support. Training: Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State (LMHCA) MA Marriage and Family Counseling, Gonzaga University, 2021 Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship, 2021 Integrative Somatic Trauma Certification, 2022
